MULTITASKER GIRL FEELS A LITTLE IFFY

Tuesday, May 29, 2007

I must have done some serious damage to my body. Thursday I had to call in from work, which was not as bad, it gave me time to take care of some going back to school stuff. Friday, still not better, went to work, bought my school books over lunch and tried to be greatful the three day weekend thing was ahead of me. Saturday, Carla and Paul invited me over to dinner which was so awesome I was semi-sad when my take home was finished. (Note to self: bring their tupperware back.) Sunday I tried to clean at home, did not work, watched a dvd with Ching and Brian instead. Monday I believe would be the most productive. Breakfast at Good Egg, shopping (you should see my new shirt!), a matinee, a nap and dinner at Old Chicago. Ah! What an awesome way to top off my holiday weekend.

But here I am at work again. A bit earlier than usual but I stopped off to buy some green tea bags. My throat is feeling awful, I cough my lungs out every other minute it seems, and my whole back feels sore from my neck to my ...err... soup bone. =D

Oh well, must try to enjoy, only one more week before Summer semester starts, and I do believe I've overloaded myself again. Good job, me.

MULTITASKER GIRL - QUICK UPDATE

Wednesday, May 23, 2007

Fell asleep around 8pm last night and seriously slept through until my alarm woke me up at 6:30am. I guess the Lord didn't want anything to do with my drinking habit. It worked out great for me though. I had the best series of dreams ever.

Work was not as flawless, a lot of system downtimes, but all is well that ends well. Tomorrow is Thurdsay and everyone is thinking about going to Mulligans after work for happy hour. Friday is jean's day. And, finally, this weekend is a three day weekend. w00t! I'm contemplating a little run to Manhattan, KS. Cross fingers.

Tonight a bit of a break. Dinner at Hana Cafe and hopefully the Brickyard is open for the summer. Should be fun. I have people to meet by 8pm so this is a very quick update before I get changed and run out.

BTW, someone drew me a picture and really I only like it for the "I'm sorry" written underneath but I've been told the hard copy has been shredded. I think it was forgotten that a phone cam capture was already sent. So when I have more time to transfer it over and post it I will. So bleh!

MULTITASKER GIRL VS CRANKY MONKEY

Tuesday, May 22, 2007

People have the strangest ways of letting you down. Last night was excellent only because Brandon was there to reminisce about the good not-so-old days with me. We played pool for a couple hours, and had Papa John's breadsticks delivered to the Pumphouse. Good times. Mr. So-and-So, ruins it by forgetting his balls and playing coyish girl games - done! So-and-So part Duh! has a "lapse of judgement" and oversteps his boundaries. Ugh! Some days I wish I could just shoo them all away.

Went to work lacking sleep but work has always been a haven so I looked forward to it. Eight hours of no outside world. Except someone, (who will not be named,) started freaking out near the end of the day, accusing me of something I've already said 10 times I didn't do. It wasn't a big deal, it wasn't even work related, I just get tired easily with having to defend myself. Besides my genuine concern and eagerness to help ended up being such a waste since it went unnoticed overshadowed by trivial crap.

Regardless, back home now. Will vedge in front of the TV, find something to eat, and try to nap. If I wake up before midnight then the Lord woke me up to grab some drinks. Amen.

Okay someone, who still will not be named, just texted me an apology. So, he's of the hook. See, how easy that was? F-ing apologies are so rare these days.

MULTITASKER GIRL GOES ON FOUR HOURS OF SLEEP

Monday, May 21, 2007

Saturday evening I met up with Michelle, her brother and her sister in-law at Finn's. We also went to Liquid for a bit so she could try a Pink Orgasm. Good times. Pictures below:

Sunday I had some drink with "He whose name shall not be spoken" =D Did I quote the f-ing movie right? Whatever. Anyway, I told myself be home by 11pm. Yeah, when does that ever work. I think we left only 10 minutes before the bar actually closed. w00t! I am so not in shape for it be Monday. Oh well.

Already got to work, just a quick blog, (and really it was quick - took less than 5 minutes so far,) before I go make some coffee. Happy Monday everybody!

MULTITASKER GIRL HAS TOO MUCH FREE TIME

Saturday, May 19, 2007

Got back from Memphis and straight back to work. No school, though. Not until June 4th atleast. I seriously don't know what to do with all this free time. I think too much anymore these days.

This morning I had an hour dedicated to me and no thinking. That would be me during an hour massage. Ahhh!

Back to the real world though. w00t!

MULTITASKER GIRL LET'S THE BRIDE SPEAK FOR HERSELF

The promised blog

It's been a busy week!

People began arriving on Thursday.   We hit the graduation banquet.   Just as I expected, I didn't get any awards.   Eh, well, I AM a slacker.

Friday was busy, busy, busy.   I took Jen, Michelle, my sister, and my mom for manicures/pedicures.   My aunt Rita & uncle Larry showed up sometime while we were there, so Rita joined us for a manicure.   Wayne went to pick up his little brother's tux (which needed slight altering), but it was no where to be found.   Finally, they did find it.

We had our rehearsal "dinner" at Corky's (at 3:00).   My aunts & uncles don't get together often, so they were busy talking & not eating.   Jen ended up pushing it along, and we made it to the church on time for the rehearsal, then off to graduation.

After the graduation was a champagne reception.   We got to keep the champagne glasses, and I had plenty of help, so we collected a set of 12 for me (and another one for Jen to keep).

The next day was the "big day, big day, big day", as Jen kept saying.   I only slept 2-3 hours in anticipation.   We started out by picking up the rental car (BMW 328i).   However, the rental people didn't show up until 9:15, which made me yell a little, but we still made it on time to our appointment at Hi Gorgeous for hair & makeup.   Then on to the church to have pictures done.

Of course, since I was sitting around in my wedding dress from 1 until the ceremony began at 7, food was inevitable.   Michelle ripped open a dry cleaning bag & draped it over as a huge bib so I could enjoy some tacos worry-free.

Oh yes, and Wayne managed to lock his keys in my car when picking up Taco Bell.   Jen had to drive my keys to him (in a city she doesn't know) to rescue him.

So we had done all we had to do.   So what else was left until the ceremony except a pre-wedding interview

Oh, one more notable thing.   This is the first time my dad's siblings (he's one of 7) have ever gotten together outside of their hometown.   Makes me feel kind of special. :)

MULTITASKER GIRL DOES A PRE WEDDING INTERVIEW

Tuesday, May 15, 2007

Becky, Michelle and I were stuck hiding in the church's bridal room while everyone ran out to eat and do errands. We were hungry and bored. Here's the end result:

MULTITASKER GIRL AND SOME WEDDING PICTURES

Sunday, May 13, 2007

The whole weekend was pretty much scheduled. Friday morning, after breakfast, Becky made manicure and pedicure appointments for the bridesmaids and her mother. We got done two and a half hours later because there were only 3 people working for the 5 of us. We had a couple hours before we had to get ready for the rehearsal dinner at 3pm and the actual rehearsal and 5pm. Immediately after was Becky - excuse me - Dr. Becky's graduation and a champagne reception after that. Michelle, who I was sharing a hotel room with, and I wanted to swim in the indoor pool at the hotel afterwards, but was so tired we skipped it. Got up early around 7am the next day, to pick Becky up from her apartment, bring her to the hotel to eat breakfast with everyone, and then leave to pick up the BMW they had rented for their wedding. Enterprise sucked and threw us off schedule but we were at the beauty salon by 10am regardless. The bride, bridesmaids and mothers of both the bride and groom got hair and make-up done. As we got done we started leaving in pairs to get food and head to the church. Around 1pm the photographer got to the church and started setting up. From 1:30pm to 4:30pm were pictures. From 5pm to 7:30pm Becky, Michelle and I were stuck in the Bridal Room of the church begging someone to bring us food because we couldn't leave the way we were dressed and it was too cumbersome to undress and redress. At some point Wayne bought us Taco Bell but locked the keys in the car, so I had to drive off and bring the spare key to him. Great thing Becky had the spare key along with her. The wedding went off without a hitch and so did the reception. I made a toast, yay me! And that was that until 12am. I'll be here in Memphis until Tuesday to help with some clean up chores, but that's about it. The madness has ended. Wayne and Becky are finally married. No more weddings for awhile. Thanks.

These are the only pics I have because 1) I was the maid of honor so I couldn't just sit aroung taking pictures, and 2) My memory card actually ran out of memory space because of this huge video interview I did with Becky. Which the video is so huge YouTube won't let me upload it. Must find a way.

MULTITASKER GIRL CATCHES UP THE BLOG
Right so, first things first, the pictures from the driving range. Remember I've been learning how to play? Here they are:

I actually LOVE it so far. Despite the fact that my back is still adjusting to all the work I'm having to do, it's very fun and relaxing. My real classes start June 4th so cannot wait!

Thursday morning was my last final, after finals I bolted and started my way to Memphis. I actually arrived too late for a banquet Becky had invited me too, so after checking in to the hotel, I waited for Michelle and went to eat dinner at Colletta's, (I think I spelled that right,) which was one of the restaurants we ate at back in March. Yummy food!

The next blog is about the wedding, but since I'm catching up I wanted to break the blogs up. You know me, everything must be chronological.

Oh and a video of my golf swing last weekend.

MULTITASKER GIRL - READY, GET SET, GO!

Tuesday, May 08, 2007

Right, so never ever ever tell myself again that I can go to the bar for "just one hour" before I study. That doesn't work evidently. I started the day at 6am, hungover, and cramming. Cramming! Que dia! And to top it off, today was Book Buy Back and I left my books at home. I had to drive back to Derby to grab them, then drive back to Wichita, and now I'm back in Derby.

The rest of the day looks like this:
  1. Do laundry
  2. Clean car
  3. Get oil change
  4. Pack
  5. Study for last final
  6. Pick up BC patches from pharmacy

Of course, not likely in that order but no less all of that before 5pm. Yay! Sometime in between I will have lunch and dinner. Es muy necesario. Tomorrow I go to work, and Thursday I take my last final and leave. Oh, let it be a smooth trip to Memphis. Please, please!

MULTITASKER GIRL WILL DRINK THE SORENESS AWAY

Sunday, May 06, 2007

Kurt Halsey

Friday was a fairly eventful day starting from the cute little outfit I put together for work. Had lunch at Hana with one of my bestest buddies, and bumped into Ching and Robbie. So despite from my food not being on the table until 45 minutes into my lunch time causing me to be 20 minutes late coming back to work, it was still way worth it. Actually, I managed to ring Robbie the day after to apologize not having been able to chat him up and told him to call whenever he wants to catch up. It was a day later because that's how long it took for me to find his number.

After work I was taken to Kobe's for a nice dinner, and then went to Finn's to see James and tried not to laugh at a former friend who has now evolved into the girl she used to despise. My how things turn against you like that. I wonder if that huge gold glittery bag of hers had in it a nice selection of glittery tube tops. I'm sure it did. Well, not much to report she had always been real pretentious. I guess, we'll just see who she turns into next.

The next day I visited the bank fairly early, and then grabbed breakfast/lunch food for two. Had the usual snappy snappy - stop yelling at me - talk and then headed to the golf range. Actually still sore. After that, dinner, shopping for TV's and watched a DVD. Yes, life does not get more exciting than that.

This morning packed up. Got home, had my snappy snappy - stop yelling at me - talk over the phone and then started packing for Memphis. I've printed my route to the hotel I'll be staying at, got a packing list, and now I just have Monday - work, Tuesday - class, Wednesday - work, and then Thursday - finals and driving.

Did I mention I'm sore? Yep, gonna drink that away. I'm gonna head off to my friend's bar for a bit, just long enough for two drinks and two dollars worth of MegaTouch. Then we start the madness!

MULTITASKER GIRL HAS A LESBIAN MOMENT

Thursday, May 03, 2007

Just because this video is hot...btw, Shakira so makes Beyonce look like she's trying too hard. Go, Shakira!

BTW, a little response from a bit of Becky's blog:

Now I just have to deal with my infinitely tiny maid-of-honor, who is way too small for her dress (still)! Let's hope everyone else fits their things, and that no other big problems occur between now & then.

Just to let you know, in the Philippines, I'm not tiny and in fact, the last time I went home the guys were smaller than I was. So there!

So, I just got that with my last exam and oral interview in Spanish, now all I have to do is finish my workbook assignments and study for the final. After this blog I plan to do some laundry, catch up on some CSI and Law and Order, and possibly taking my nail polish off to get ready for next week. Friday, I'll be picking up my bridesmaid's dress (cross-fingers.) Saturday is Cinco de Mayo, so we all know what that entails and how that affects Sunday, duh! Then I have Monday through Wednesday to slowly pack my gear after work each day, and Thursday I'll be taking my Spanish finals then bolting to head to Memphis. Whew! It'll be a nice little vacation before Summer semesters starts which will be on June 4th. Yay!

Oh, and if you're done listening to the above video I'd like to share a song I heard on the radio the other day that is most awesome. I hope you dig it. See along time! Lyrics below video:

Paolo Nutini - New Shoes

Woke up cold one Tuesday
I'm looking tired and feeling quite sick
I felt like there was something missing
In my day to day life
So I quickly opened the wardrobe
Pulled out some jeans and a T-Shirt that seemed clean
Topped it off with a pair of old shoes that were ripped around the seams
And I thought
These shoes just don't suit me

Hey, I put some new shoes on
And suddenly everything is right
I said
Hey, I put some new shoes on and everybody's smiling
It's so inviting
Oh, short on money
But long on time
Slowly strolling in the sweet sunshine
And I'm running late and I don't need an excuse
To wear in my brand new shoes

Woke up late one Thursday
And I'm seeing stars as I'm rubbing my eyes
And I felt like there were two days missing
As I focused on the time
AS I made my way to the kitchen
But I had to stop from the shock of what I found
A room full of all my friends
All dancing 'round and 'round
And I thought
Hello new shoes
Bye bye blues

Hey, I put some new shoes on
And suddenly everything is right
I said

Hey, I put some new shoes on and everybody's smiling
It's so inviting
Oh, short on money
But long on time
Slowly strolling in the sweet sunshine
And I'm running late and I don't need an excuse
To wear in my brand new shoes

Take me wondering through these streets
Where bright lights and angels meet
Stone to stone they take me on
I'm walking till the break of dawn

Take me wondering through these streets
Where bright lights and angels meet
Stone to stone they take me on
I'm walking till the break of dawn

Hey, I put some new shoes on
And suddenly everything is right
I said

MULTITASKER GIRL IS ON LUNCH

Wednesday, May 02, 2007

It is nasty out, all this f-ind rain. Ew! So, here I am eating lunch at my desk. Not too shabby. What else can you ask for when you've got Steak Quesadilla. A glass of wine, maybe.

Ah, what else was I going to blog about? Anything new? Guess not. Though, I miss my sister a little bit. I think she should emerge for some air after finals week. The only person I've really spoken to (and only over the phone) has been Brian. There's this fear that Brian's been posting comments, and sending text messages "from Ching" to keep me from suspecting that he's fed her to the animals. Ching, are you still with us?

Well, I've still got about 27 minutes left of my lunch hour so I think I'll step outside for a bit of "fresh air."

MULTITASKER GIRL EARNS HER DINNER
So, that paper I've been bloggin about writing - finally wrote it. Actually finished it entirely, proofread and all by Monday night, and even created a powerpoint to go with it for my presentation. Then Tuesday I went to a dentist appointment in the morning and went through what I would do for my presentation in the waiting room. It was a truly hectic day. I was quite thankful that I didn't have to work that day.

As a reward for getting through it though, I was taken to Piztros by my bunny. Yay! This is the second time this week I got dinner and dessert. I am a happy monkey! Actually after work Monday we met at Tokyo and had sushi. That was awesome too. (Oh, and I just got a text saying I'm being missed so I'm going to cut this blog short.)

Right now, I'm at work, and the only class I have to worry about from here is Spanish which is a breeze. After that I'll be off to Memphis. I cannot wait! More on that after work...
