MULTITASKER GIRL AND THE JOB SITUATION

Thursday, March 29, 2007

Work blows when you work with hags with wannabe croonies but I found consolation in knowing I can find other jobs. I don't have to stay. In my age with all my skills, I'm highly marketable. (Plus I'm way cute.)

I called in a vacation day, updated my resumes, called old contacts and started to work on a new job. I figured at most I can put my two weeks in by next Monday. Then checking the mail I find out my debit card is on the way. I ordered a debit card specially for my work. Made me remember how much I loved where I worked to begin with, I just don't like the people. Well, the debit card is making me rethink. I've waited so long for this thing, (the bank went through an integration right after I signed up,) I'm not chucking it so soon. I guess those hags will have to deal with me longer, (unless today's job seeking comes back with a good offer *wink*.) Besides, we all know for sure they'll be working there for the rest of their lives, I'm sure working with me temporarily until I get my degree won't hurt them that much.

I get my Associates after next Fall semester, so I should have my Bachelors in two years tops. I'm sure they will all survive, (unless death by old age hits first.)

MULTITASKER GIRL - HAPPY AGAIN

Wednesday, March 28, 2007

Not so happy to miss my first class of the day, but I really have been feeling crappy lately. That driving back and forth didn't help any either but atleast I can get back rubs soon. I just have a little bit more studying to do, and then I can finally go to bed.

Everything is really falling into place. School is a breeze. Work is work, and I love my job, but the people not so much. I guess everyone has that sometimes. Of course, my happiness lies in knowing I don't have to put up with it. I don't have to suck it up. I'm not one of those old timers stuck at the same chair for 10 years knowing there is nothing else better in store for them. Me, I just have to stick out until the end of summer semester, that is if I don't find something better before that. Besides I have an awesome distraction currently, which makes it easy to drive to work everyday. After summer sem I go back to online classes. Of course, I might be back to WSU by then too, depends on how much course load I can take on this summer. Cross your fingers.

OKay, must do some reading and then sleep, sleep, sleep. Good night sweeties!

MULTITASKER GIRL ATTENDS A BRIDAL SHOWER AND HEARS THE BEST LOVE STORY EVER
Misty, Becky's friend in Memphis was nice enough to host the Bridal Shower at her house. Becky actually attended her wedding when her and Wayne were just beginning their relationship. I guess Misty, her husband Justin and Wayned had all gone to the same high school so they've gone way back. Misty and Justin they go way way back.

So the story was the after a couple months of dating they start to realize that not only did they go to the same high school together, they also went to the same day care when they were little. They have the same birthday so on their first birthday, being in the same day care, there was a cake made with both of their names on it. A picture of that cake is in their house today. Now that is destiny. I wish I had one of those.

Anyway, going back to the shower, here's the pictures:

MULTITASKER GIRL BREAKS UP WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE LONGEST POST EVER
Everyone knows I went to Memphis this past weekend. Everyone knows right? Not a lot happened, just a bridal shower and a bachelorette party. The bride's grandmother was there *wink*wink*. Due to the massive amount of pictures I'll break it up in sections.

Let's start with the 8 hour drive to Memphis. Yes, I drove. And I'm glad a got a good head start because me, being the biggest fan of Mother Road ever, kept stopping for EVERYTHING. I stopped to take pictures of trees, for lost puppies, to get magnets and for every welcome center I passed. Oh, and I stopped randomly to write random thoughts in my journal.

Gee, where to start. Here's a couple pictures of the trees =D

Trees

Trees

A sample of my random road thoughts:

  • A multitasking skill - I can press a flower in my journal by sitting on my journal during an 8 hour drive. If you try it, remember to take the journal from beneath your bottom once in a while, if you don't, I have found, your butt will start to hurt.

  • Ft. Smith is not in Texas, it's not even in Arkansas, it's in Oklahoma.

  • I passed a road sign for a convenience store and read the phrase "Cold Beer". Had a great thought - open road, 9:34 am and cold beer. I winked, which startled me. I didn't read the sign out load, and even if I did there's no one else in the car with me, so who was I winking to? My f-ing windshield. I'm retarded.

  • Stopping to write random thoughts in journal every time random thoughts pop up is a good way to get behid schedule.

  • I think Ft. Smith is in Arkansas. I'm so confused. Where am I?

  • I saw a puppy on the road and I stopped. It looked injured and hungry and I thought about feeding it my Frito's but I was afraid it might be rabid. I called 911 to have them dispatch Animal Control. I guess, whatever city I was in didn't have one, so they sent a trooper instead. Something needs to be done about that.

Puppy

BTW, since I was heading east I got a perfect view of the sunrise, but the picture doesn't translate as well, especially through the many bugs that were sacrificed for this road trip.

Sunrise

All the serenity - gone, by the time I got to Memphis. Memphis driver's are crazy. Lovely city though, they have Macy's, Delia's, Bebe and Guess in the mall. I had tons of fun.

MULTITASKER GIRL - NO ANGEL
I should have probably saved that title for the blog on the Bachelorette Party unfortunately it's needed here. This is a emergency and required announcement. Jake and I are no longer speaking. I can't say why, and I can't say why I'm having to blog it even, but there it is. Thank you, everyone, for the multitude of soon to be sent unsolicited advises. Really, I've heard them all. I'm not listening to any of them because frankly I don't care. I'm done. This whole game is so old already. I'm just going to skip dating all together. No one is allowed to pick up on me unless they're ready to get married with a ring in hand and a date in mind. Until then, I don't want to hear from anybody.

MULTITASKER GIRL AND SOME PSEUDO IRISH LUCK

Sunday, March 18, 2007

Friday night at work was a bit frustrating. It was nice because I got to see Jake when I got to work and right before he left but that was it. Work itself was intense. We were a bit short. I kept calling Jake to help get me through it, and kept having to remind myself I had a 3 day weekend ahead of me. To top off the whole mess, the Ex, whom I have not heard from since Tuesday that week when I told him I was going to start dating other people sent a text message. Something about hating me and never contacting him again - so why contact me to begin with?

I went over to Jakey's as planned where he had 3 bottles of my fave Lambic beer waiting for me, and met Johnny, Bubba and Mel. Bubba (no clue what his real name is) and Mel left and Johnny, Jakey and I went to play darts at a nearby bar. Actually, first they had to pry me away from the Megatouch machine where I had made 3 top scores on 3 different games with only $1. And I even had to waste my last credit because the boys made me stop playing. Throughout all of this I was still receiving texts and phone calls from the Ex, and I could tell Jake wasn't appreciating it and Johnny was getting frustrated for him. It went all until the next morning even.

I stayed the night as we had planned and Jake got up early to cook. I was yelling and arguing over the phone when he came into the room to serve me my breakfast. (Eli guess what I had for breakfast! Corned beef hash with potatoes, sunny side up eggs and croissant.) Anyway, Jake is really good at understanding when I don't want to talk, but he was also really good at being there when I just needed to let the whole thing pour out. I don't remember exactly but I do believe I started sobbing and hyperventilating and he basically just held me until I realized I was soaking his shirt up and had to pull myself together.

By the time I was out of the shower and in my "IRISH" shirt people started dropping by. Including his dad, which I gave him a hard time for not giving me notice for. A major plus though, I pulled him aside and told him I really needed a smoke but have not had one so his dad wouldn't have to see. What response do I get? "You're a big girl." What a breath of fresh air. Someone that can hold his own and will let me hold mine. And he doesn't even smoke himself. Seems small to some but means so much to me. Of course, I still snuck around like a little theif but I think his dad knew what we kept stepping outside for. Jake prepared corned beef and cabbage, Shepperd's Pie, and some other Irish meals I can't name enough for 20 people it seemed. The Shepperd's Pie was my favorite. We listened to Irish music and watched watched Boondock Saints about two Irish brothers who go around Boston killing mafia members. It seriously rocked.

Of course I took a nap in the middle of everything, and didn't wake up until I heard one of Jakey's friend say something about Chinese people being lazy, Jakey saying something about me not being Chinese but he wasn't sure if Chinese poeple were lazy and I yell from inside the room "What about the Great Wall of China F-ers!" Good times! Actually, while I was trying to nap, Jakey came in the bedroom to have a talk with me. Yeah, everyone knows I cringe when people need to "talk". Bottom line, we made ourselves official. Yay!

Got up from my nap with my hair all a mess, but Jakey wouldn't let me run to the mall to have it done. He said water, and a comb. Men! If you notice in the pics, when we finally got to go out I have my hair in a pony tail. That's what happened. A couple more people dropped in, including Jakey's mom who was absolutely sweet. She first wanted to complement my Ireland sweater, then she realized it was Jakey's old sweater.

It was a pretty laid back day. We all went to Loft 150 since Jakey is friend's with someone in Big Fat Fun. We played pool, and sometime during the night I lost control of my cam and got the weirdest shots. Oh, and the video up top, that's Bubba lipsyncing. =D

Anyway, today was meant to tackle homework but spent mostly on cleaning up the site, getting the pics from the weekend uploaded, and dealing with the Ex. He goes from "never wanting to speak again" to calling me because he's too drunk to drive, to needing me and wanting to marry me but I'm not worth the ring just use the one he bought me before, to dying without me, and now I'm a whore. It's like going through our 2 and a half year relationship all in one morning.

But that's his problem now, isn't it? I'm going to brew some hot tea, write in my journal while I smoke a cig outside, and then I'm starting a new scrapbook for my new life.

BTW, Becky, Carla mentioned driving with Paul up to Memphis and letting him on his own while we're all out, per chance I might bring the new guy and see how well he plays with the other boys. Just a thought, we don't even know if he can get off work yet.

Ah, speaking of bachelorettes, we happned by one last night. They kept coming back to Jakey because there was a line on the bride-to-be's shirt where someone had to show the girl a six pack and they said there was no one else in the bar with a six pack except for Jakey and Jakey kept refusing. Anyway, I made it so he can do atleast one of the things on the shirt handed him a condom which he had to blow up and sign for the bachelorette. That was fun, though I think it embarassed him a bit having all that attention.

He's adorable. I'm lucky. Oh, and speaking of luck, while playing pool last night, right in front of me a penny heads up. I can't wait to see what else is coming my way.
