MULTITASKER GIRL IS SOBER . pause . NOT!

Saturday, April 28, 2007

I thought I'd share some Dispatch music with everyone this fine Saturday morning to get the ball rolling. If you didn't know Dispatch is actually no longer a band, but when they were they rocked the world. So there.

I think I woke up still drunk. Ow! Regardless I have to get a butt load done today so onward ho. My never ending to-do includes: Finishing my paper and preparing for my presentation. After Tech Comm is taken care of I can finish off my workbooks for Spanish. Two more weeks until Becky's wedding, so needing get some car maintanence before the long drive. Packing would be good too. I've got my Summer and Fall 2007 semester classes already registered for so that's a big one out of the way. Currently needing to wee wee really bad. Break!

I got that tattoo I'd been wanting to get last Tuesday after classes. So right now since it's on my front waist area it's a challenge getting dressed and undressed, or even walking for that matter, because the clothing rubs against it. Today's the fourth day though, so I can stop putting that ointment crap on it. I just thought about because it hurt when I got up to wee.

Aside from all the responsible stuff, I also just noticed I need to do my nails. Maybe even just to take the polish off since we're having our nails done for the wedding anyway. That'll be my reward, when I get my paper done then I'll get to do my nails. I should probably clean my car too. Or I could just go back to bed. Decisions. Decisions.

BTW, for Becky and a little inside joke, the following video.

Ohmigawd, I'm so sleepy. OKay, 15 more minutes in bed, then I'm up.

MULTITASKER GIRL ALREADY HAD THE BEST WEEKEND EVER

Saturday, April 21, 2007

After the last post I actually went back to being hungry. Had an ice cream craving and drove to DQ for my break. Yummy! (Ooh the craving just hit me again, must repeat.) Went to buy another bottle of Bogle for keeping and a bottle of a different wine for drinking. A coworker recommended one, and when I asked the store owner to point me to that wine he gave me a little look of WTF. Guess why. The bottle, as I have now found out, is a twist off wine. Well, I still bought it, not wanting to judge the wine by it's bottle, and still a mistake. I am so giving that coworker crap come Monday.

This morning was my massage at Innovative Body and it was heaven. I've been going there for a little over a month now, and they are by far my favoritest out of all the spas I've tried. Unfortunately I won't be getting another massage until next month because of my busier by the minute schedule. But I did schedule it for the weekend after Becky's wedding. I figured another trip to Memphis is definitely going to do my back in so this is a very good move on my part.

Today, I have errands such as: cleaning my vehicle, filling out my 401k papers from the city and finally getting that taken care of, a little homework for the paper I said I would have done by Tuesday, dropping the bridesmaid dress off for alterations, and getting vamped out for a little dinner date. Actually I'm just excited to go to PF Chang's because I love that place. Ah, cannot wait for Mongolian Beef and Sake. Dangit! I'm hungry again!

I've been eating and eating more, I think the 8 to 5 schedule helps put me in the a good eating time schedule, which is the best. Everyone feels good when they eat. I hope I start to show some weight soon though, it's getting a bit frustrating. Oh well, been this size for almost 10 years now, I guess no one can blame me if I end up losing this fight.

Okay, gonna get a quick mid-afternoon meal in, just for motivation and then I'll be up and around.

MULTITASKER GIRL IS FULL

Friday, April 20, 2007

I went to Chipotle for lunch and had the usual steak quesadilla. Ugh! I feel so heavy! I'm running out of places to go eat from here, though, so probably soon I'll have to look into packing my lunches. With my luck I'll probably eat whatever I bring before lunch. Today I brough sliced oranges, and ate those along with a packet of Frito Chili Cheese chips and I was still famished by 11am. I want to be able to bring cereal and milk and eat at my desk in the mornings. Mmmm...milk.

Hahahahaha...actually on lunch break right now, just wanted to post real quick. Going back to work.

MULTITASKER GIRL IN A RUSH AS ALWAYS

Thursday, April 19, 2007

Quick update on that Spanish exam I made up on Thursday - 100%.

Carrying on, I managed to slip in a quick mini series on the Sci Fi channel watching Arabian Nights because it hooked me with a pretty chick. *shrugs shoulders* It's a weakness. Also I bought the trilogy of Riddick and watched it all over again, because Riddick is always a bad ass no matter how gay Vin Diesel decides to be. Another good bad ass movie was Virtousity with Russel Crowe being the best villain ever. I always side with the bad guys, they're so much more fun!

I've been cramming a lot of to-do's in my days. Usually running my errands on Tuesdays after classes, on my lunch hours, or right after work before heading home. Just mainly trying to catch everyone else's business hours. It's been pretty smooth sailing actually, I always work well on a time limit, performing best on Panic Mode.

My blogs have been pretty non drama, no thanks to me, actually. I have no explanation for the sudden twist, just a bout of complacency hit, and here I am. Kinda sitting back and getting knocked on the head, and thinking "I should probably react to that, but how?" and by the time I figure something out it's too late and I'm more than content to let it go. Hmmm... and I don't mind. Oh, cut me some slack I am not under medication! It just happened.

Kurt Halsey

Of course, now that everything shifted I'm reflecting more than usual with this sort of haze instead of the usual intense red or black. And all these reflections I think have caused the recent train of very vivid, very where-the-hell-did-that-come-from dreams. People I should have already forgotten are popping in, things I would have never thought of that finally seeing it kinda makes sense, and some things I can't remember but still kinda lingers, if you know what I mean. Strange, but I'll get to the bottom of this.

Meanwhile, I still have living to do, which, cumbersome as it may get, feels pretty darn enjoyable. Ah, and my back is killing me. Good thing my massage appointment is this Saturday. I don't think I could have held up much longer. And yes, I have a Kurt Halsey facination right now, let it go. This will run like the Jason Mraz phase and everyone will just deal with it because I have an obsessive personality. You didn't know? Wow. I'm sorry to be the one that had to break it to you.

MULTITASKER GIRL TIENES SUERTE CON BUENAS IDEAS

Tuesday, April 17, 2007

Kurt Halsey - The Heart

I have never felt so blessed with almost bright ideas. =D Actually, consistently lucky, and I've been chanting the same mantra for years now - "things always just work out for me." Remember that paper that was printed 9 minutes before it was due? 98 out of 100 points. Yes, go ahead and applaud. I'm a bad ass.

So, so far this semester I havea 95.4% in Technical Communication which I only have one final project and two classes left of. Now don't get me wrong it's not quite smooth sailing from here. The final project is a formal report plus oral presentation all totalling 300 points. If I miss those 300 points my A goes straight down to a D. Not saying there's even a remote chance of me missing 300 points, but I always calculate as a just in case. In Spanish I have a shining 97.2% and with about 8 classes left to go, I'm not worried. I did a make up exam this morning for the exam I missed last Thursday (I was home sick) and breezed through all 4 pages and I think the only question I missed was the last extra credit question, which of course, popped in mind the minute I sat back down from handing the exam in. Special point: Que es la Casa Rosa en Buenas Aires? La Casa Rosa es el casa de presidente de Argentina en Buenas Aires. Basically it was a cultural question referring to Argentina's version of the White House. Either way I should get my score back Thursday.

Well, off I go to get ready for the next day. I think today's victory deserves another bottle of wine. Stay tuned.

MULTITASKER GIRL GETS ADVENTUROUS

Sunday, April 15, 2007

A little trip to the liquor store and I decided to get adventurous and try a new wine. Most always I tend towards the sweeter wines, White Zins and Rieslings, I was about to grab a Cabarnet when the store owner stopped me and started asking questions. I told him my usual likes and how I wanted to branch out, "don't jump to a Cabarnet," he said and quickly pointed me toward the Pinots. No, thank you, been there, didn't like it. Next! Ah, then he got all sentimental, "this is my wife's favorite," Petite Sirah. Okie dokie. Took that home and to my surprise it was good!

It started out with a kick, maybe due to the 13.5% alcohol content, far from the lighter wines I usual drink, but the further down you got to each glass the better it tasted. I kept testing this theory and it was true with both glasses I had. Of course, by the middle of the first glass I was already trying to carefully knife the label off the bottle. This was a poor attempt at listening to the store owner and starting a wine journal. I got very impatient, as I usually do, and actually ruined the label. Then I got all bratty and started whining and getting peeved. Somebunny (who drank more than there fair share of the wine, let me tell you) wisely advised me to just find the wine online and *poof* there's my label. So smart.

BTW, this wine gives a very mellow buzz. Unlike with the lighter wines, that usually make me all giddy and social, (as if I was sober) this gave me a very chill let's just watch commercials and not care feeling. So it doesn't really hit you that you're drinking at all, except the next morning. Same with other wines, this one comes with a huge payback in headaches. But that would be the only down side to a most excellent "I'll-be-buying-another-bottle-to-keep" wine.

p.s. For those who didn't know - a Sirah and a Shiraz is the same thing, just different origins.

MULTITASKER GIRL WINS ANOTHER RACE

Tuesday, April 10, 2007

It was a pretend proposal paper. As in, pretend you work for a company that has a need, and pretend you have the solution for that need, and pretend you will have to write a proposal to present your solution for that need. Pretend you're most eloquent with words and well versed in business jargon, and while you're at it pretend your budget, pretend you have opposition and pretend you have an argument that will win over said opposition. Like saying, pretend you're not by instinct a verbal person, and not just verbal but blunt and sometimes almost crude, and pretend that instead of screaming "Shut the f- up and do it my way" you're actually going to take the time to write a 5 page paper up. Yeah, it was due at 12:30pm today, and I printed it up at 12:21pm made it to class just in time to fiind a little format error in my chronological listing. *Sigh* I guess every race can't be flawles.

After class ran a couple errands, such as dropping my glasses of at the Shea's to get another lense made. The original lense cracked. Thank God for warranties, or friends willing to put things under warranty.

I've got workbook pages and a composition due for Spanish Thursday and as well on that day is a Spanish test. Before the much needed study session though I think I've earned some time out. I'm off to celebrate my most recent win.

Now, if I start seeing every obstacle as a race, and every accomplishment as a win, I'd be celebrating most every night. Hmmm... What a fantastic concept!

MULTITASKER GIRL GETS TOYS

Sunday, April 08, 2007

Logan told me grown ups aren't allowed to get toys, and I proudly told him I'm not a grown up. So, Logan got a remote control bug that has gripping fans and shoots out nerf darts, and I got new golf clubs. Woohoo!

It's only a starter set, seriously the most golfing I've ever done was 5 minutes of learning how to put. Hopefully this summer not only do I learn how to play but also learn to enjoy playing. So a starter set wasn't a bad idea. Lord knows I can't invest a grand in something I "might" like. But it's still the cutest EVAR! Because I don't buy ugly stuff, and stuff I can't match with. =D I'm so excited for summer classes to start now.

Actually I think once it starts getting warm again, which should start this coming Tuesday, I'm going to go out to a driving range and start learning on my own. Well, not on my own, I do have an almost live-in teacher and a butt load of friends that golf. Only I do still need shoes. Then once I buy the shoes I'll have to start buying outfits that look good with those shoes. And most def I won't be golfing wearing my Bulova watch. (Do you know how much it cost to get the bands fixed on that thing?) So I'll have to find a Casio watch that matches too. You see, when I find a hobby, I really commit myself and my wardrobe.

Alright, enough ranting I have to get clothes ready for tomorrow and finish off my homeowrk for this week. If I remember the sullabus correctly I have a test to look forward to on Thursday. Later!

MULTITASKER GIRL SAYS HAPPY FRIDAY!

Friday, April 06, 2007

Yep! Back at work and really it's been great. Didn't have to have that awkward training period, just dove right in. So far, the last couple of days have been pretty steady, just settling back in, and having fun with the second glances, and everyone stopping by to say hi and "I heard you were back." I've been saying it's been like waking up from a dream (nightmare) and finding myself in the same place.

Basically, they will be working around my school schedule. I'll be working Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and half days on Thursdays. They're not requiring anyone to work weekends, but considering this project (almost identical to what I was working on before) when it comes to crunch time I'm sure they'll start asking for volunteers. But I don't foresee that happening any time soon. So another weekend off. Wow! I really missed being an 8-to-5-er.

This weekend I'm looking forward to seeing Grindhouse (movie) and hopefully getting some cleaning done. I have homework to do, of course, but closer and closer to the end of the semester. I'm more excited about getting my final grades than getting that break before summer semester actually. Only because I've worked really hard this semester to keep a 4.0 average for both classes.

As well, I heard from an old coworker today from the City. She is so cool. She wanted to call to make sure I was doing fine, and that she understood where I was coming from and she wanted to make sure it didn't get me down too much. Awww! She is so sweet! Which reminds me, I promised another girl I'd keep in touch through email so I should fish that email address out of my purse fairly soon.

Well, this is a short blog, because I do need to start getting some of my to-do's done. It's going to be a cold weekend, I think, so I might be tempted into just hiding under the comforter for the next two days. Going to have to work hard to keep myself motivated if I'm going to get anything done. Hasta luego!

MULTITASKER GIRL MULTITASKING AGAIN

Wednesday, April 04, 2007

Chapters - Kurt Halsey So a short bout of unemployment and back to the real world again. Err! What's so horribly wobbly in my life right now? This morning I was practically cursing my self, nothing to do, y'know? So I planned out a beautiful day with shopping for golf gear, stopping by my fave but rarely visited coffee shop, and taking pictures at the nature trail. Doing my nails, homework, and laundry, they were all so trivial about 2 hours ago. Now, a quick blog while my lights are in the wash, before I rush to my car to grab my school books and get everything done and ready for next week, and most probably I will be doing my own nails tonight.

I start work tomorrow. It's a previous employer, actually the one right before I started working for the city and the one that inspired the self-proclaimed MULTITASKER GIRL nickname. Yay! I couldn't say no. So I'm an 8-to-5-er again. Whew! This time possibly compromising golf classes may not be that much of a sacrifice. I've already told myself, with the money I'm making I can afford better golf gears and since I'll have the weekends off, I'll just play then. Sounds like a plan right? Well, not all is that planned out yet. I'll meet with the head tomorrow when I get to work and I'll be discussing school schedules, and of course, having time off for Becky's wedding. Es muy importante. We'll see where this leads. If all else, I'll always have Plan A to go back to. Now that I'm employed again, I kinda regret not taking full advantage of all those days off. *tear* But one thing is for certain and will not be put off because of this new change...I will be getting a new tattoo. Stay tuned!

MULTITASKER GIRL CATCHES UP ON MOVIES

Tuesday, April 03, 2007

I know when I first saw the preview for School for Scoundrels I was really wanting to see it. Of course, everyone knew with how my schedule was, I never really had the time. So, recently, I got the chance to rent the DVD and the movie was freakin' awesome! I kept trying to talk to people about it and have been surprised by the number of "I wanted to see that but never got to" responses. Seriously? If you're one of those I suggest putting this on your must-watch-by-the-end-of-the-week list. It's that good.

BTW, I'm in the library, supposedly doing research. Remember the sub I mentioned in the post prior? Well, our regular teacher is in Boston. We were advised before he left that the sub would be assigning our final project. I though she would assign it then let us go. NO! She is holding us hostage in the library. Currently, I would rather be at home working on the project that was assigned last week and is due next week. I've got the layout already chosen and the information I want to provide listed out. I just need to get everything organized, typed out, proofread, printed, and then hopefully submitted by next Tuesday. (Bonus, no classes on Thursday!) This final project is tied in to an oral presentation which I can tell Kinkos will be highly involved in. The instructor has listed visuals/visual handouts as part of the "suggested" materials for us to include in the presentation. This final project will be due in two weeks.

Of course, I wouldn't be screwing off like this unless I've already done the research I needed. Same as for the other project, I've chosen the layout, the information I'm including and the references I need. Now just organizing everything and making my visuals, and possibly an interview. I only have three projects left including the oral presentation and I'm fairly confident I can get them all done, and done well.

Christ! An hour and a half left of this, I'm running out of things to blog about. Okay, maybe now I'll go back to doing the project due next week. Atleast something productive right?

P.S. Grindhouse (movie) is supposed to be out this Friday. Cannot wait!

MULTITASKER GIRL IS SNEAKY SNEAKY
I got to class about 45 mins early. This is usually the case since class starts at about 12:30pm and my first class ends at 11am. That gives me time to eat and catch up on homework, but right now, not as motivated. Besides I owe a post since so much has occured.

Right so, all that thinking about having to make it through work. I thought I could, honestly. Friday came around and I had the Spanish certification at 10:30am so normally that would mean I'd be out of work until 7pm. That would have only given me 4 and a half hours of cattiness to put up with. The closer I got to work though the more I realized I didn't need to be put through any of that. So I resigned. A little impulsive, but not without any justification. Besides if you're going to quit, might as well have the weekend off =D

I enjoyed a leisurely weekend, of course. Mom had a get together on Sunday. Monday came around and it was time for me to get started on school work again. I did laundry as usual, like nothing had changed. I got a call back from one of the companies I had sent my resume to Thursday which was a surprise because they usually don't respond that quickly. I set an interview for 3pm that afternoon.

Originally, I had planned on being a full time student for the summer, living off of my savings, and being able to concentrate on getting my GPA up and graduating sooner. Let's face it, none of the jobs I've had so far is even close to the field I'm working towards. When this interview came up it was a spot as an HR Generalist. So I started having to look through my summer class schedule trying to find something I could compromise. I felt disappointed in thinking I might have to forego the golf lessons because I was so looking forward to it. During the interview I found out that not only would they pay me less than what I would normally ask for, they were also not as flexible when it came to scheduling around classes. Not worth it. Of course, I didn't say that. Duh!

After class this morning I had a brilliant idea. Coop education! I would get aide in looking for a job this summer, one that might be flexible with my school schedule because they signed up knowing they'll be getting students, one that would be closer to my career field of choice, and one I'd be getting credits for. I'm a freakin' genius!

So there's my next to do. Sometime after all that I need to contact my bank and see if I can transfer my 401k from the city into some kind of IRA account. I was originally just going to cash it, but I think I have enough that I won't need it at all. I think if it gets to the point that I have to dip into that, then I didn't plan this full time student thing at all. So far, I've gone ahead and paid most of my foreseen bills in advance just so I have a clearer view of what to look forward to financially, and I think I'll do just fine all summer without having to ask the 'rents for help. (Mom, I know you read this, I'm going to try, but don't hold me to it =D) Actually I know I'll do just fine, especially if I can do the Coop thing. Then by fall it's back to the regular full time school - full time job gig. By then, I'm looking at mostly online classes so it won't be an issue at all.

Well, sub is here. She thought class was at 12pm better go.
